Did you know that how you talk to yourself could affect your weight loss efforts? Find out about weight loss word power!

I can not tell you how many times I have had people ask me for weight loss advice, who than immediately start giving me all the reasons why they could not possibly do some of the things I do to be healthy and slim. Even things that are basic weight loss advice like stop drinking your calories and start learning to enjoy ice water with lemon.

Do you have any idea how much power words have, whether you speak them or think them? Words are more powerful than you may realize and they can make or break your weight loss efforts.

If you really want to change your weight, you are going to have to change more than just the food you eat and the activities you perform, you are going to have to overhaul the words you think and use on a daily basis.

The one person you need to count on most during weight loss is yourself, and if you are complaining or speaking negatively about yourself, your circumstances, the people around you, or giving reasons why you can’t do this or you can’t do that, or you hate this or you hate that, then you are eventually going to sabotage yourself.

If one of the first things I ask you to change is to give up your soda, diet soda or alcohol and your first response is "Oh, I could never give that up!" how much hope do you think you have of long-term weight loss?

Why can’t you do something so basic for yourself? Why isn’t your life, your body and your current and future health worth more than a can of soda or whatever you think you can’t do or give up for yourself? The word "can’t" shouldn’t even be a part of your life. If there is a will there is a way, so you really can, you just don’t want to.

Every aspect of your weight loss efforts should be met with a desire and a determination, as well as a dedication, to do everything you possibly can for yourself. The words you choose to use should be encouraging, edifying and uplifting, never condemning, negative, or demeaning.

I bet if you start really listening to how you talk to yourself and learn to pay attention to what you think about, you are going to discover a big reason for your weight problem - wrong words.

Don’t you think it would enhance your weight loss efforts if you supported yourself wholeheartedly? If you want to look and feel good, you have to talk and think good. Words are powerful, so start using good powerful words and help yourself lose weight and change your life for the better. You only live this life as you once, so make sure you look and feel the way you want.
